When a furnace replacement makes sense
Furnaces fail in the usual ways: cracked heat exchanger, short-cycling, rooms that never catch up, or parts that are no longer worth the money. Age is not the whole story. A mid-life furnace that is oversized, poorly vented, or tied to leaky ducts can still leave you uncomfortable.
We look at:

How the house is used, and whether cooling is also on the list
If the right answer is repair instead of replace, we will say so.
How we install a furnace
A furnace replacement is more than swapping one box for another. Capacity has to match the building’s heat loss. Return air, flue, fuel line, electrical, and condensate have to be done to code. We pull permits where the city or county requires them.

Furnace, heat pump, or both
A lot of Northwest jobs today are heat pumps, because one system heats and cools. That is not always the right call. If you have gas service, working ducts, and you mainly need heat, a furnace replacement can still be the straightforward path. Some buildings do better hybrid. We will not push equipment you do not need.

Homes and light commercial
Most of this work is residential — Everett ramblers, Marysville and Arlington plats, Bellingham and Ferndale houses, Mount Vernon and Lynden properties. We also handle light commercial HVAC furnace or packaged-unit replacements. We do not take on campus-wide control overhauls.
Furnace installation FAQs
How long does a typical furnace replacement take? Most straightforward residential replacements finish in one day. Jobs that need new venting, gas-line work, or duct repairs take longer. We set the schedule before we start.
Can you replace my furnace and add cooling at the same time? Yes. That may be a matching air conditioner or a heat pump that also cools. It depends on the ducts, electrical service, and how you use the house. We price the options separately so you can choose.
Do you install furnaces in new construction? Yes. That is part of our new construction work. It is much easier to plan the system before drywall than to cut one in later.
What maintenance does a new furnace need? Filters on a regular schedule, and a professional check at least once a year. See HVAC maintenance. We do not list a membership price here; call if you want to set up recurring service.
