HVAC Maintenance & Tune-Ups in Snohomish, Skagit & Whatcom Counties
Mechanical Energy Solutions services the systems we install and the systems already in your building. Maintenance is inspections, cleaning, and adjustments so the equipment you have keeps doing its job. It is not a redesigned system, and it is not a sales visit with a filter change attached.
We work on furnaces, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and air conditioners in Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom counties. Call (360) 296-5903 to schedule, or send a request.
What a tune-up is for
Northwest equipment lives in damp air, crawl spaces, and attics. Filters load up. Coils get dirty. Condensate lines clog. Gas furnaces need a look at combustion, venting, and safety controls. Heat pumps need airflow, defrost behavior, and electrical connections checked. That work has to happen on site.
A typical visit may include:
-
Filter check (we will tell you what you should be running)
-
Indoor and outdoor coil condition
-
Blower, belts if present, and obvious airflow problems
-
Electrical connections and operating amps where it matters
-
Refrigerant circuit checks on heat pumps and AC — we diagnose; we do not “top off” as a habit
-
Gas furnace burners, heat exchanger inspection as accessible, and flue
-
Thermostat and control operation
-
A short list of what is fine, what can wait, and what should be fixed
If the unit is at the end of its life, we will say that. Replacement, when it is time, is furnace, heat pump, or AC work — not something we hide inside a maintenance invoice.
How often to schedule service
Most homes do well with a professional check at least once a year. Heat pumps that run all year often benefit from a look in both heating and cooling season. Indoor filters are on you between visits; how often depends on the filter, pets, and the house.
We do not publish membership prices, club tiers, or a coupon calendar on this page. Those numbers change, and we would rather quote the visit you actually need. If you want recurring service on a calendar, call and we will set that up.
We also do not advertise 24/7 emergency coverage. If something is down, call (360) 296-5903. We will tell you when we can get there.
After an install, and for buildings we did not originally build
New equipment still needs filters and a first-season check. That is true for new construction and retrofit jobs and for replacements in existing houses. Light commercial spaces — offices, shops, small tenant units — follow the same idea: keep the unit clean, keep airflow, catch small problems. See commercial HVAC.

HVAC maintenance FAQs
What should I do between professional visits? Keep the outdoor unit clear of debris, leaves, and stored junk. Change or clean filters on the schedule we give you. For ductless heads, clean the washable filters; they clog faster than people expect. Do not close off most of the supply registers to “save energy.”
Do you work on systems you did not install? Yes. We will inspect it first. If it is unsafe, undersized, or not worth putting more money into, we will say so before we start a repair loop.
Is maintenance required for the warranty? Manufacturer warranties often expect documented maintenance. Keep your invoices. We provide what we did on the ticket. Warranty terms come from the manufacturer.
Can you check the ducts too? We look at accessible ducts and airflow as part of diagnosing comfort and equipment problems. A full duct redesign is a retrofit conversation, not a tune-up.
Do you serve my city? Yes across Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom — including Everett, Lynnwood, Marysville, Arlington, Lake Stevens, Mount Vernon, Bellingham, Ferndale, and Lynden.
